On 27th of February 2020 his excellency Abd al-Rahman bin Ali al-Kubeisi , ambassador of Qatar to Sudan ,accompanied by delegate of Qatari museum authority chaired by Mr. Ahmed al-Namla , executive manager of the authority, paid visit to Bajrawya archeological site in north Sudan for following the achievements and activities of Qatari mission for Sudanese pyramids , which is considered the most important mission among Sudanese –Qatari archeological missions.
The delegate received explanation from Dr. Mahmoud Suleiman co-chairman of Qatari mission for Sudanese pyramids and manager of international heritage site ( Merwi Island) about the activities of Qatari mission in al-Bajrawya pyramids site which received the biggest number of visitors as one of the international heritage sites.
The visit included Qatari projects which represent in Dawhat Merwi , a tourist village of high calibration , began with accommodation of archeologists .
Also the delegate visited pyramids and royal bath which locates in the royal city that includes remnants of palaces and temples of Merwi kings.
The tourism supposedly will have a share in this district with commercial operation.
